I was convinced that somewhere in the life of my newly acquired 2002 LS6 that the driver's window had been broken and replaced and the the shop/person doing the work was lazy in getting all the glass out of the door. Annoyed by the continuing rattle, I decided to remove the Door Panel and do the job correctly (YouTube was my friend here). I was slightly amused to find that the door was sans glass but almost every bolt holding the innards on was loose. One even fell to the ground as I pulled the panel off. I was also pleasantly surprised to get it off without breaking a single push tab. The rattle I hear from the passenger Door Panel compelled me to remove it and tighten them as well although they were not nearly as loose as the drivers side. Had the passenger side off in under 10 minutes I tell you.

yeah, only you know where all the screws are, the panel come off real quick, the worse part is yanking like hell thinking those clips are gonna break before they let loose!

When I bought mine last week it had a rattle in the drivers door. Also window was not indexed correctly so auto up didn't work right. I pulled the door panel off and found that whoever replace the regulator didn't put the nut back on the stud of the window motor. I hate it when people do shoty work.

I am fairly certain I am the first to ever remove the Door Panel so either the bolts just came loose with time or the were put on during the 3rd shift on a Friday. I was surprised also to see how poorly the insulating paper was applied. I adjusted it in spots and added some Duct Tape in spots.

This experienced has inspired me to remove the Door Panel on my 2004 Town Car so I can replace the Chrome Accent Strip that some butthead dented at the golf course. I scored one last week at the Pick-N-Pull for all of $7.40.
