ok ever since I put my lms xx pipe and mufflers back on I have noticed a slight rattling, like its rubbing up on a heat sheild or something. its been getting worse lately and it only used to happen during start up untill it got warm.. now its anytime.
I looked under the car and nothing is touching the exhaust at all... and the sound is only comming from 1 muffler, no where else. can the inside of the muffler be broken or something?

Could be and most likely is the catalytic converter heat sheild "buzzing" Get under there and tap on them with a rubber mallet and I bet you can reproduce that sound.

is the muffler close to the tow hook tabs on the back? mine are pretty close, and rattle off of that tab.. i will get around to fixing it someday..

Agreed. I had this on my '95 base.

I Found out what is causing the rattling... its something inside my muffler, I knew it was.. there is no noise ANYwhere else in the exhaust except for that 1 muffler, the exhaust is not touching any part of the car... and if you hit the muffler you hear something rattling around in there

Replace both then - if one is gone then so is the other. It is prob. rusted out from the inside.

If it's one of our mufflers then it is stainless in and out so there wouldn't be a chance of rust.

Also if it is one of our mufflers then it is a perforated chamber and unless the particle was of good size then it would be unlikely that something would get stuck in there.

Take a bright light and take a peek, have someone tap the muffler without the hanger installed on that suspect side.
