When I first started posting on this board a lot was said about the fact that many liberals don't post that often. The reason why is simple. Though there are some great debaters and reasonable arguers on this board, ...[edit~snip]


I don't know if you all didn't notice, but I am giving notice now that I will not respond to that person's remarks or accusations as they refuse to discuss all the points brought up and insist on arguing a point even when it's been conceded. I hope the rest of you will forgive me.

I have found you to be a breath of fresh air and one of the few willing to take a liberal position and defend it. It is also a compliment to you that you are willing to concede a point and you do seem to think through your positions well. Keep up the good work but please remember to keep it friendly if at all possible. thanks
 
This is soooo interesting. This guy comes on the forum, makes a bunch of ludicrous claims, then accuses one of the members of being a RACIST, then when he's called to account for it, HE'S the victim??? This is rich. As far as I'm concerned, don't come back until you learn some decorum and grow a skin.

I left the board because of fossten. I'm sure others have, too. The man [edit] doesn't understand the basic concept of opinions. Opinions can't be right or wrong. They are just opinions.

Barry I would sure hate to lose a quality person on this board like you over one person.

I understand your fustration, especially coming from a well world educated person like yourself.

I have noticed your absence... To lose you at LvC would be a great lost.

Sometimes opinions is just like Lincoln vs Cadillac... for some reason you like one over the other.

Barry, it seems (JUST MY OPINION) [edit...] to just lurk on a board reading the threads without posting until someone else attacks someone you don't like, and then to jump on the bandwagon and say, "Yeah, me too."

The history behind this thread is reason numero uno' that I don't participate in political discussions over the internet. To many enemies can be made before someone even knows who you truly are. Relax a bit guys.

And I left the Lincoln Forum because of you. The main reason you don't like Fossten's posts is because they're true.
 
I'm sorry, but I honestly think this thread should be deleted. If you have a personal problem with someone, resolve it like adults thorugh PM, or just be the "bigger man" and don't respond. I know we have a rule against against personal attacks, and I'm sorry, but isn't this basically a "let's bad mouth fossten" thread? I mean otherwise, it wouldn't be so aptly named. It doesn't matter what he's said to you in other threads in the past. If you take this stuff so seriously, you shouldn't post at all because everyone here who is agreeing with the point of this board has been JUST as guilty as fossten or myself or anyone else of being an "a$$". And that's the damned truth. And you can say he does it more, or I do it more, or whatever (which is untrue as well), but do we have a 15% policy on personal attacks, or a 0%? I forget..... We are all adults here, and we should be able to take hits like adults even if we don't argue like them. I think this thread is everything I would hate this place to be. It's things like this that lead to having 10 mods in every forum taking out comments left and right.

In other words, grow up, move on, and wuit complaining. If that means you have to leave, then so be it. If your so sensitive, you shouldn't be getting into heated discussions. I don't want to hear about feelings because my feelings have been hurt several times here, but I didn't have to start a thread crapping on the guy who did it. I hope you all will stay because I love our debates, but if you can't realize in the grand scheme of life, this is a freaking chat forum about politics, and it holds about no significance in your life, then, well, I don't know. I love all you guys, but, this is just immature. :thread:

While I agree at first blush, we are not a thread deleting site.
If everybody has had their say, then this thread quitely drifts away.
If not, then it is probably healthier to leave it open. You know what they say to make a marriage successful. Never go to bed angry.

Passions run high on both sides. That is just the way it is. The key is to not take anything personal. We're all just voicing opinions and hopefully enjoying the exchanges for entertainment value alone.

If I get a bunch of PMs saying delete it, I'll certainly reconsider.

Say what's on your mind or forever hold your peace.
 
On second thought fossten is a big boy and I know he can take this crap.
