Im looking into buying Ford Racing trak loc and 410 gears for my 94 mark.

The question is, is there a specific trak loc for the irs cars or can I just order the standard 28 spline 8.8 trak loc.

Iv seen a bunch of sites and many post saying both things. So just looking to see what other people have done before I order anything.

Yes, there is an irs specific trac lock. I don't know exactly why, but there is.

i believe you can use any 28 spline ford 8.8 track lock. the main difference is the rings. you can either have it machined so the rings will fit. or just dont use the rings at all. or get the irs 28 spline

As for the Trac Lok you can use any 28 spline 8.8 Ford setup. Its a little harder to get the axle shafts to pop out of a non-IRS specific one due to the cir-clips but thats about it.

OP, the TL in mark8murders car is from a 93 Cobra. I have also been able to pull the half shafts back out with no issue. Makes no noise and hooks perfectly. So yes, you can use a non-IRS TL in your car.

no noise at all and it flat gets! But the hooking part.....it does have a blower

If you buy any new FRPP tracklock nowadays, it will have the gears already machined for the circlips unless you find a place that has really old stock!

Ask Screw-Rice how easy it is to get the halfshafts out of a non irs diff
