Anyone know the size of the nuts that secure the rear license plate into place? Lost both of mine taking off the plate yesterday and now I need replacements...smh

Mine has the screws poking out and I just slide a nut over the threads to secure the plate, which is why I asked what size nut would fit over it
That's not factory, so it would be a guess for anyone here as to what size you need, unless the person that modified yours is on here.

Welp, went to home depot and wasted $2.56 in nuts just to find out a 1/4 incher does the trick.

Ya I've never seen studs on a car for a plate, and I've seen lots of cars in my day, lol

Yeah, I have that problem too. They are big square plastic nuts, the problem is that the hole is an even bigger square. It appears that to keep it in, they doped it up with fingertip caulk! Not just on our LS, but on 2 others I ripped the the trunk liner out of to see what was really going on. In fact, a pair of the nuts are sitting on my desk right now, waiting for me to model up a replacement to 3D print out. I used, I think a 6mm, stainless hex head screw. But don't over tighten or you'll pull the nut right out!

That was a machine screw, And a stainless fender washer, looks nice and won't rust. You will have to remove the inside to install a replacement nut plus a fender washer to keep it from pulling through. Once I get a printed nut out of the printer I'll make extra's for anyone who wants them.
