Now it seems that it may be the rear main seal that's leaking and not the oil pan. Anyone have any information on how hard it is to change or put in a new seal? It's,a 98 Mark.

Step 1: Either remove the engine or the transmission.

After that, remove the rear main seal cover, replace the rear main seal, reinstall the cover using RTV, and reinstall the engine or transmission. It's a pretty time consuming job to replace a rear main seal.

Trans would be the easier route. Takes about 3 hours

X2, since the best way to remove the engine is drop the cradle with motor and trans, then you would have to still separate, then lift motor to do the pan. As long as your exhaust isn't to bad it's only an evening worth of work.
