I recently purchased a 94 mark viii, and also installed the air/spring conversion kit. After installing the kit, i found out the rear shocks also need to be replaced. I've purchased the shocks, was just looking for some kind of installation instructions or walkthrough to look at in case i run into any problems. Does anyone know where i can find one?

Thanks,
Jelgiad

if the mounts are good it should be pretty self explanitory. Remove lower bolt, remove upper bolt..Visually check the rubber bushings, mine where kinda cracked but i just through on some that came with the shocks and they've been fine for many miles. To get the top nut off you will have to keep the shock portion in the wheelwell still..I used vice grips.

If you have to buy mounts, get them from strutmasters, not Ford. You'll save over $100.

If the shock mounts are bad...just burn everything out and use the bushings supplied with the new shocks...

Why are you guys spending $ for nothing...it's totally beyond me!!!!!

Maybe some of us non wrench turners don't know that you can get away with not using shock mounts. I certainly didn't know that.

You don't NOT use them...just remove the mount if the factory bushings are bad (99.9% are bad) set the mount on fire...propane torche, fire pit, BBQ pit, whatever....let all the rubber burn away...let it cool...reinstall back into car...place washer on shock, followed by the shocks supplied new bushing, incert shock into mount, secure the bottom bolt...crawl into trunk, place second bushing on shock rod, place washer on and then the nut and tighten...repeat on other side....enjoy the ride
