Would the hyrdobushing in the rear upper control arm be the same part # as the hydrobushing for the rear lower control arm??

I see these for the lower, but my upper bushing is shot.

Also the racing green ones:

The upper is more expensive, looked at these:

I'm replacing the subframe on a 2000 LSV8 in the next month or so...

Ritalin - I do not have the answer for you, but am also curious about cross-comparability.

One thing to consider about the Rear- Upper CA's is that they have the integrated ball joint attachment on the knuckle side. If this ball joint has failed, it is not worth the $100 to buy the new inner pair of bushings vs the entire arm with all 3 items being new.

Secondly, there is some good info on powerflexusa.com.

I am currently in communication with Powerflex regarding the numerous Poly bushings they offer for the Jaguar Stype and XF. My lowers are shot, and I am looking into a full refresh of rear bushings for my LS. For what its worth, they list the upper CA bushings as different part#'s than the lowers, and even give different numbers (and images) for each upper bushing itself (#13 vs #14, see below). This may indicate that the lowers/uppers are not compatible.

Lower #12

Upper (front) #13

Upper (rear) #14

I will most likely buy a set of S-Type parts and measure them for compatibility on the LS. Like I said I am currently working with PFU to see if these will fit. I will report back once I do. I have ran these bushings on a few cars and have nothing but good things to say about them. Great alternative to buying full arms, with some added handling benefits as well.

Edit - as a final comment for anyone who may know more than me about this.

Position #12 linked above from the 98-02 S-Type, differs from that of the 02-09 product page and the XF. For those two vehicles, they give you a bushing kit with washers, and you choose a 54 or 58mm bushing size.

Late S-type and Jag XF #12 Link

Based on the info located on LVC HERE this may give us not just one, but multiple options for LS compatability for the lower bushings. As some people are questioning the difference between Deustche parts (ebay) and Racing Green being different parts, or quality parts. We already know we cannot go to Ford/Lincoln or Jaguar for bushings only. >:O

Very interested on the result of your exploration.

Same here, I pulled some good looking low milage 1st GEN lowers but do not know if the fit the 2nd GEN.
Also interested in finding the correct bushings for the LCA's ... I have the TMC induced squeak which gets a PB Blast every so often ... just to silence it a little longer.

I had already replaced the upper control arms in the 04 as well as the 01. They are not that bad in price and plentiful.

~ Following your lead Devon! Please keep us posted on your findings. Very interested in finding a proven fit bushing replacement kit.

EDIT - - - - based on your image above, you'd need 10, 11 (same for inner on the LCA's) and 12 for the outer on the Lower Control Arms. At least those are the ones I would want to replaced as apposed to finding brand new OEM replacement units.

Just checked on pricing again at Tascaparts.com, seems the lowers are on sale again. might be worth it to grab those instead of messing around with getting bushings pressed out and in.

6W4Z-5A649-AA ~ LOWER CNTRL ARM, RIGHT ~ on sale @ $268.88

6W4Z-5A649-AB ~ LOWER CNTRL ARM, LEFT ~ on sale @ $238.12

A bit better then full pop.

QUESTION: why are the 1st GEN LCA's different in p/n ??? Are they not interchangeable? What is the difference?

Hi, My lowers are fine. The upper hydrobushings are the only ones gone due to an idiot welding shop putting reinforcements along the top tab/ear of the sub-frame that had weakened due to rust/rot. The idiot welder tacked/braised little angle pieces to the nut/bolt running through the bushing and cooked it well done. The weld job held for about 2 months, snapped and the car has been laid up for a while. I was so disgusted and got ripped off $900 for his $hitty work. The car actually only has 38,000kms so most suspension parts are not worn out. I am contemplating buying the full arms through. Thanks for all the info guys. When I bring the car in to work on, I'll upload a pic or two - not for weak stomachs though - it looks nasty!

I bought those powerflex for the front lower arms. I bought a moog control arm from rockauto but it had a defect. I measured the bushings before returning it and they were a perfect match. Maybe you could do the same for the rear. Just be sure to get the right year S Type.
Now I just need to install mine but I likely need to make my own press tool.

Good to know - I have ordered every bushing they offer, along with spare arms. It should all be arriving soon and I will confirm for the group/Forum. I will make a separate write-up at that time.

It looks like the only difference in their S-Type lineup is the front-most control bushings, along with position #12. As the LCA up front changed on the later Stype's to the more angled design. (See Kumba's S-Type suspension swap thread. I am excited to hear about the 98-02 version matching to the LS. That gives me hope!

I would assume any jag control arm that matches part numbers for LS, the bushings would work. Some may have different part numbers but still work anyway.
Are you installing yours yourself? If you make insertion tools, can you let us know what the dimensions need to be? I'd like to have all my stuff ready so its not pulled apart too long. Thanks!

Here's my earlier thread... I've procrastinated!! http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/fo...Arm-Poly-Bushings-vs-Complete-Arm-Replacement

I also ended up with a reply back from powerflex that i never included in that thread. The guy that had a durometer issue screwed something up. At first they wanted to ship me the black ones, but after the dust settled, I got the purple ones like I wanted.

Edit: Here's dimensions for the front lowers:
PFF27-601
Length = 77.8mm
OD = 69.85mm
Arm Width = 60mm
Sleeve Bore = 14mm

PFF27-602
Length = 60mm
OD = 45mm
Arm Width = 36.3mm
Sleeve Bore = 14mm

Just to update this thread for anyone who stumbles upon it later - the Rear upper control arm bushing is NOT the same size as the lower.

From left to right, #'s correlate to the diagram I posted above: Rear-Upper Front (13), Rear-Upper Rear (14), Rear-Lower Arm Knuckle side(12).
