Rear View Miirror Question - Wondering if anyone had done a conversion on a 2000 LS

Here is the issue. I have a '00 LS with the auto dimming inside rear view mirror. The mirrors tend to lose the liquid crystals that make the mirror work and good mirrors are difficult to find that are not broken. My mirror does not have the compass in it. These are even more difficult to find. My question, has anyone researched or successfully converted their mirror to one with the compass? I know there is some more circuitry that would need to be brought over to make this work, but is it possible on a '00? The mirrors with a compass are easier to find as they are used on more cars than the LS. Anyone know or have any success with this?

Chris, wasn't the pin different for the compass vs. non compass mirror?

The connectors are different, but you should be able to move the pins from your connector to the connector for the new mirror. I believe that the pin order remains the same. You don't have to add any wires. The additional wires are there to control dimming of the dimming driver's outside mirror. No need to add anything.

pin order worked, i just took the small connector out of the old mirror, i believe i modified the connector slightly, and plugged it in.
