Rear View mirror (very odd)

So i get my car back from the shop (finally fixed my vc gasket and coils, aka hell, 5 coils later, but thats another story) and i notice that there is some sort of an oval outline in my rear view mirror. It seemed like the mirror was slightly tinted, with a clear oval in the center. i thought it might be the night dimmer or something, so decided to wait and see. The next day the oval moved up and was now a half-oval at the top of my rear view mirror. I thought it would fully go away with time, but it has been stuck like that for about a day. Have any of you ever seen this or had it happen? What do you think it is?

the fluid in it that 'tints' when electricity is applied has a habit of going bad.

like Mike said - no way to fix it.
