Where can I buy them cheaper than the dealer?

My local guy quoted $295 for each rear window, and I need both - the 2nd one crapped out yesterday.

So now it has a block of wood in the door too holding it up.

He says I can't buy just the regulator, it comes with a new motor too, hence the high price.

Help me out please!

Here is a link with the prices from TeamFord(www.teamford.com), a lot cheaper than the dealer quote. Team Ford is a vendor and his banner is on the right--->
I tried to put the direct link to the parts list but it didn't work. Go to the main parts section and search regulator, it seems they are $58 for the rear and $105 for the front.

Your dealer is incorrect -

R/R door - regulator- 4W4Z-5427008-AA List $35.57 Inet $26.68

L/R door - regulator- 4W4Z-5427009-AA List $35.57 Inet $26.68

WOW!! How the hell does a dealer miss by that far?????

Hey Quick - found the part for $35 on team ford's site, but where can I get them for $26?

Amazed at how rediculously high parts are priced in Canada. $295=$250 USD.

I think your dealer was mistaken....or just tried to hose you. No way parts are marked up that much to our friends north of the border.

Well, your PM did kinda piss off Bush a while back...... :)

Well, that was the old PM, and he was a dick ;). Harper is cool - for a square, as is Bush LOL :D.

No, sadly the dealer wasn't wrong - called 2 others and got the same ballpark quotes. We do get hosed badly on parts.

So I'm ordering from south of the border - but where do I get them for that $27?

I just pulled those off the on-line catalog on fastpartsnetwork.com

Looks like the parts where just superceeded.....

Old Partnumber: 4W4Z5427008AA
New Partnumber: 5W4Z5427008A

Old Partnumber: 4W4Z5427009AA
New Partnumber: 5W4Z5427009A

looks like all of the catalogsare coming up with the same prices now.... maybea recent update.

If it's that much money now, I'm betting it's the motor and everything. No way a regulator is that much money, you think?

Did the regulator work out?

The dealerships down here will not sell you the regulator without the motor. That's why the price is so high. But I have too noticed the reguators sold separately online. What I want to know is if you were able to install just the regulator and what year is your LS?

I'm ticked off since the same motor/regulator that the dealership replaced a little over a year ago has already failed. They won't replace it since they only warrenty repairs for 12 months. Personally, in all my life and cars, I've never heard of a window motor or regulator going out in less than 8 years. I'm going to have to do this one myself so I at least know that it will be done correctly. I just need to know for sure if the regulator can be replaced and save myself a couple hundred dollars.

Please, if anyone knows this for sure????

I haven't got them yet, but just fired off an email today to TeamFord. Will let you know when the parts get here and installed in the car (it's a 2000, but all LS's use the same regulator I think). And yes, it's BS that these parts are failing already on 5 year old cars.

But hey, that's cost cutting and outsourcing parts to the cheapest supplier. Even luxury cars (and the space shuttle) are built with parts from the cheapest bidder :D.
