I have a 2000 Lincoln LS, is it too late to take it in to get the recalls taken care of??? does it have to be under warranty to get the recalls taken care of for free?

if it's a true recall - no - is it covered, but if it's only a TSB then yes - it's too late. Most of the TSB are covered under warranty but are only performed if the customer complains about the issue.

thanks!

ok, the lower ball joint recall... thats a TRUE recall... what do i need to do to go get that taken care of??? is there something i need to bring into the dealership? or do i just bring it in and say i need to get the lower ball joint recall done, and they look it up & take care of it...

has anyone actually taken there LS in for this recall after the warranty was up? how did it go???

Shouldn't have any troubles with having it done if its a recall. They can look up your vin number and see if it has been done already.

Warranty status does not matter. Just take the car in and tell them to check for non-compliant recalls for your vehicle...FMC will pick up the tab. I had a recall on my ABS system on my GMC and they fixed it no charge when I was well over 100,000 miles.
