Ok i had a Lincoln LS V6 2000 and i have nothing but trouble with the thing and would not advise anybody to buy the LS.. Thats my Opinion and alot of money went to the dealer and to a transmission company. This is what i have had trouble with:
Coils going bad.All 6(not at all the sametime)$$$
transmission. packs in the tranny once changed then the tranny went out
front and rear ball joints. $$$
window falling down on its own spent money for that to be fixed.(rear pasangerside)$$
keyless remote failure.(had to buy a new one and then dealer program)$$
cd player won't work! new system$$
valva covers $$
The tech at the garage stated that the lincoln ls was a "project car" for Lincoln and that it won't make anymore after 2006 or was it 2005
tried to get the tranny rebuild but nobody wants to rebuild a 5 speed tranny from the LS??? anybody know why? just kept getting the same ole statement"take it to..... they might do it. Lincoln wanted to charge me 3000.00 for a new one and 3700 for a rebuild if they had to do it??? that one got me to. but labor is alot here in NC. So what i did was get a tranny from a Salvage yard and stuck it in the vehicle and traded it in!!!!( came from a side impacked wreck LS) paid 300 for it with "low Miles" LOL
So good luck to those that buy a Lincoln LS!!! later Girty
this was intended for a list of recalls that the LS had but when i started to think how much cash was in my old LS i thought i should voice my experiences with this dreadful car. the car had 36,000 on it and when it reached 45,000 the problems began. the total milage now is at 90.000 and it still is at the used car lot.LOL.. but its only been 2 weeks since we parted ways..........

The 2000 model LS was the first year they made it, some were riddled with bugs. You would have known that if you had read this forum from beginning to end before you bought the car.

my 02 v6 with 75k no probs other than the sway bar bang. Its no big deal. sorry for your problems.... you should of gotten an 02

My '00 with 117K miles has been virtually trouble free. I would hazard a guess that you problems are an anomolly.
