If anyone knows of a quality Lincoln LS mechanic in the greater Los Angeles area (preferably surrounding suburbs) and Las Vegas, please let me know about them. It seems that so many shops tell people that their blend door needs to be repaired on their LS when they don't even have one on a LS. I would really like to find quality people that actually know the difference between a Mark VIII and a LS. Since I have already replaced the transmission, no help is needed there hopefully. Someone that knows and understands the issues that seem to be common with the LS. Thank you all for your help.

Hey again! Well it looks like we have the same stomping grounds. I havnt been in Vegas since pre 2008, so cant help you there. BUT, I have tons of resources glendale burbank pasadena area. Keep in mind labor in Cali is probably a bit higher, independents float around 100 bucks an hour.

As far as your problem goes, as said in the other thread replace all the plastic parts in the coolant system. Couple of detailed threads here on that. It really is a must, because a small leak can unpressurize the system and block flow. If it wasnt cold right now you may be overheating. Once this is done, if the problem still exists then you have ruled out the perverbial #1 issue with these aged cars. I am certain that little old lady like mine didnt do any of that, and knowing it came from cali, they will look good on the outside, but the inside is 'rotting'.

This is a basic job, so any qualified mechanic can do it, and with the guides here, maybe you could too.

Try a Jaguar shop. The LS is much more Jaguar than it is Ford... In fact, my mechanic calls my LS my Jaguar!

In regards to that, I have looked into that too here. Sadly, these shops tend to turn their noses up to it. Must be the bastard child syndrome or something. I was running into this when I had to deal with my timing chain issues. My advice is if it isnt deep engine issues or maybe suspension, forget the Jag specialists.

Quality mechanics around the general area of Pasadena would be very helpful. Thank you.

Lol, ok Nishikawa auto service. Easy google look up on fair oaks. Joe is the owner, and he is going to hate me for referring another Lincoln LS, but he is a good guy. If its just a general maintenance he probably will have one of his techs do it. He is doing my oil pump/timing chains as this is being written.

He wont do suspension though, so keep in touch with what your concerns are. I will try to help you if I know one. Transmission, if you hadnt already is Walt's in Burbank. Same thing, long time shop, caring private owner.

P.S. He is closed for the holidays and wont answer the phone until after them. That shows something that he is taking 3 days to do my car on his vacation. :)

Thanks for the info about Nishikawa Auto. I had run across positive information on Walt's before, good to hear another positive about that shop.
