Everytime I drive, people in the oncoming lanes routinely flash their high-beams at me, thinking that I have high beams on. Well, I show them the real hi-beams- anyone else have this problem?

In general, the HIDs (which I don't have unfortunately) seem to have less 'glare' and intrusiveness on the eyes.

I have a 2000 and no one seems to flash thier brights at me, your lights should be level but you might want to check that.
Also I learned in my driving school I had to attend(suspended license) that it is illegal to flash your brights at someone who flashes them at you. It is okay to flash to get them to take thier brights off but not in retaliation for them flashing you. Just becareful of who you flash back.

lincoln cant seem to get it straight i guess...mark is too dim, and the ls too bright

Yeah...no flashing anyone!:N

your lights are probably in need of aiming.

I just had them safety-checked three months ago, and the headlights were re-adjusted then.

Now would it be retaliation if the other guy left on his high beams, and I had to flash back to remind him to turn them off?

they still may need repointed. If they pointed with low rear tire pressure or empty gas tank it could make a bit of a difference. Flash flash flash away until the other guy turns his off. If that doesn't work hit him head on, you'll get his attention:)

LOL I just added my new bulbs to the fogs.....I aimed them down cuz I know I still gonna get flashed Sorry for the low quality pics they are from the Nextel I need to get the digital out this weekend

Yae I have been flashed before, but I could care less if people think I have my brights on and when they flash me I then let them see the brights. :headbang:

Well, it's happened frequently enough to me that I'm curious if it's a problem endemic to the LS?

As someone said earlier in the thread, I'd rather have them overly bright on the LS rather than incredibly dim as on the Mark VIII.

Are teh angel eyes more or less or the same brightness as the regular headlamps?

Do you have cheap aftermarket fake-HID bulbs? If so, those have poor focus and they will blind people regardless of how they're aimed.

how can a bulb have poor focus??? It's simply a light source. I would think the pattern and focus comes from the headlamp assy.

I haven't had any one flash me, my lights are standard issue 02. I'm thinking of getting the hoen set-up from LSK. As long as the wattage is the same, I can see how they would be much brighter.

What kinda bulbs are those. I want to convert my fogs to yellow just like that.

Nope Mine are the cheapy ones......I am not sure if they would look good and If they last.....If I can find someone who has a driver fog light for sale Then I would spend the money and get the good ones....These are also 9005 not the h10......Like quick was telling me before you have to aim them down OR ELSE NO ONE can see....

What state are you in? I enforced traffic law for years and never ran across a law that prohibits flashing high to acknowledge that your highs were not on. I suppose you could interpret the law so that your flashing you high beams was intentionally blinding an oncoming driver, but assuming you just flashed and did not leave them on in retaliation, it should not be a problem. (Your mileage may vary depending on the exact wording of your state traffic laws)

^^^^^^
I agree I never heard that here in FL .....
Is it illegal to flash other in the day if there is a cop behind you_____ahead of them???

Depends on the state law where you operate. Also city code may apply. Some states and municipal jurisdictions have laws that prohibit self made "Speed Trap" or "Radar Ahead" signs. But enforcement would be a real pain. Flashing headlights to warn of a Trooper ahead has been around since before CBs became common.

In Iowa. I used to flash all the time until I had to take this driving class and was put on probation for a year. The teacher of the class referenced it in class that if you flashed(someone who flashed you) then it would be considered a moving violation in which could cause you to lose you license(if you were on probation). I looked in my book I used in the class and it doesn't go indepth into the laws.

Actually Halogens do have reflectors and sometimes end caps that deflect the light onto the reflectors behind the lenses. But more to the point, the reflectors in non HID lights are not designed for the type of light the HID bulbs display. That is why HID replacement bulbs are for "Off road use only". Many of the less expensive HID replacement bulbs are in fact very bad at throwing or scattering light through non HID lenses.

Just leave your fog lights on. Just about everyone knows that fog lights go off when your high beams go on.
