Removing Air Silencer Worth It?

Cars going to the shop for some basic maintenance, was thinking of having the shop take the air silencer out because I've heard it'll give the car a meaner sound, and better gas mileage. Is this true? and is it worth it?? If anyone has sound clips of there conti without the silencer that'd be great thx

It sounds louder at the front of the car under WOT

A little but nothing that notice able in my opinion.
