removing chrome

When i bought my car the previous owner put chrome on the door pillars. Its time to take the chrome off but im not sure what to do to take it of without damaging whats underneath, any suggestions or references.

depending on what type of material they used for overlay, you might be better off overlaying again with black. You never know what condition the original pillars are going to be in if you were to peel them off...

You could heat them with a blow dryer or heat gun and peel them off. Then if the pillars are in bad condition you can remove them, prep and paint, or you could just put a black overlay on like pektel said.
