I'm removing a blown motor, only thing left is the transmission and block everything else has been removed.

It's a 2000 Lincoln LS V6 and am wondering if anyone else has pulled the block out the top and where you placed a jack under the transmission. The only mount I see is where the driveshaft goes into the transmission and nothing anywhere else so I imagine if i remove the bolts holding the transmission to the block the transmission is going to fall to the floor.

You can cut a piece of thick wood same size as trans pan and use that to hold up trans. There is a lotta surface area to spread the load. Now when I pulled my V6 out the top I stripped the motor to only the block no heads and pulled it out by hand lol so light.

That's what I was hoping to do as well, the front cover and heads are off along with the wiring harness and starter. Nothing but an oilpan and block remain. Thanks I might just have it out today after work:)

Then the real fun begins...
