I FINALLY got around to replacing the rear shocks on my car. I bought Monroe "gas-matic" shocks on sale at Advance for $12 each. They have been sitting in my trunk for weeks. I re-used the old mounts, and it came out good. I was going to make my own, as I said in an eariler post, but everyone had good things to say about re-using the old ones.
The driver's side, I didn't have to burn or anything..the rubber was totally separeted from the metal. The shock seemed to still be good. The passenger side, the shock was blown but the top mount was still useable, until I burned the rubber out :gr_devil: . The rubber at the bottom was shot.
Anyways, it rides MUCH better now...no banging noises...only thing I don't like is that they're yellow...yuck.
