What type of bulb do I need, and where can I get it from? The ones that light up the check engine, fuel economy, etc. Would like to stay away from the orange and get some color in there. 
Replacement bulbs for message center buttons?

I got a couple from my local Ford stealership. they gave me a handful from one of their bins and didn't charge me a dime

I've never looked in there but i doubt you can change the color. It's a specific color for each(thin translucent film) and not the color of the bulb.

All white bulbs and just pull a handful out of a parts car. it would be cheap or free and they don't go out very often. I have a handful here if you need some.
On sunny days I can't even see the message center warning lights. Has anyone replaced the bulbs with led's? If so, which led's? I wouldn't want them so bright as to be glaring at night when driving, but maybe it would be better than not seeing them light up at all.
