Repugnacans fight to make the rich, richer & give us cancer

come on guys...no denials? no hysterical arguments that you are on the path of good and light? no absurd claims of a good reason behind all this?

yeah, because that article was a bunch of bunk. So what if coompanies can ask for more research done on something that regulates them. I mean, you could have any quack scientist saying he has all these facts about something, and then what, the people who it affects can't say anything about it? Come on, that's just stupid. It even states at the beginnning that all this is something companies can do already. A bunch of BS.

Ok...you're smoking something and not sharing.

The whole article is about the fact that companies could ask for a scientist's findings to be verified before (which I'm all for), but now the Republicans have made it easier by adding a two sentence clause to an appropriations bill that basically states any government science agency findings are worthless after only five years. It also points out the fact that where before other scientists heavily involved in the study of a given area, whether involved from the academic side or the corporate side, could support or refute the study, but now the Republican administration is trying to make it so only corporate sponsored scientists can do a new study on it.

Wait! Salt gives me high blood pressure...you don't say! Thank God I read that article...I might have never known.

This article only paints one side of the story. What people don't realize is that it SHOULD be hard for new laws and regulations to be passed. Government shouldn't be given an easy path toward reducing our freedoms. Global warming is just one example where there is absolutely NO proof that we humans are causing it, yet the Fibs in Hollywood (idiots and dolts) swallow that theory hook, line, and sinker, while the environmentalist wackos attack the Bush administration for not TRIPLING our electric bill!

Over the last several decades, how many studies have you guys seen that have been overturned by new studies? First caffeine was bad for you, then it wasn't. Then there was wind chill factor, until a new study showed we had been miscalculating it for over 50 years! (But global warming is fact, right? Can't even measure temperature correctly!) Cholesterol caused heart attacks, then there was GOOD and BAD cholesterol, and GOOD and BAD fats.

As far as sympathy toward the EPA, you're not going to get any from me. The EPA has been largely responsible for many of the problems in this country, INCLUDING THE CURRENT GAS DISTRIBUTION PROBLEM, which everybody expects Bush to solve single-handedly! I think they should tear down the EPA, the IRS, and the NEA and start all over.
:soapbox:

Bad timing, Joey - look at the post above yours.

BTW, you show your naivete by blaming Bush for the gas prices. It's your enviro wacko radicals who are to blame for the last 40 years of preventing drilling while chaining fuel growth with regulations and reformulation.

No new refinery built in the U.S. in over 30 years.

All the crude oil in the world doesn't mean squat. We can't refine it into gas anyway. We are maxed out.
