Has anyone used the xcal on a 2005 v8 yet? What were the results? Is it worth it without upgrading the exhaust and intake??? Also has anyone noticed a decrease in speed when adding bigger rims or am I just crazy? Sorry about all the questions, but I always seem to get good answers quick on here.

I have a 05 V8 and it is well worth it! With just a custom intake made by me and a custom Xcal2 tune I am running the 1/4 mile in 14.4 @ 98 MPH. Not too shabby for an LS. With a little better driving and some extremely minor weight recudtion I an confident the car has 14.3 in it, if not 14.2 if I am lucky.

Rims will slow you down, My MarkVIII wheels are 15lbs heavier each, never timed a difference, but I know there is one. My Foose 20s on my LSE didn't strike me as being much heavier than stock, but I know they have to make a little difference. I may swap on the stockers this weekend to see how much time I can pick up, or maybe the time I run after that. Got to try to keep up with rocket5979.

The stock 17" chrome wheels/tires weighed in at about 52 pounds ea. when I sold and shipped them. My after market 20" wheels with tires weighed in at 60 pounds ea. BTW: I did not notice much of a speed difference with the wheels.

On my MarkVIII the stockers go 45lbs each, 18X9.5s Y2K Cobra Rs 60lbs each, it was noticeable. The Foose Lusso 20s on my LSE didn't seem that much heavier than stock, 8lbs may be right, I too didn't feel a big difference with them as far as speed goes, but it may be .2 in 1/4 mile time.
