Richardson declares presidential campaign
By Nedra Pickler
The Associated Press

Los Angeles - In English and Spanish, New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson today declared himself a candidate to become the first Latino president of the United States - without the "rock star" status of some of his rivals.

The former congressman and Cabinet secretary said his track record makes him the right person to lead the country through a pivotal time. He said he would repair the "ravages" of the Bush administration, beginning with a withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Iraq and a determination to make diplomacy the primary instrument of U.S. foreign policy.

What does everyone think of this guy? I like him, but have mixed feelings, as I do about most of the candidates.

He's a douche bag like every other candidate for this year's presidential election. Is it just me, or did Clinton's presidency attract dimwits to the Oval Office? It seems after him, the presidency is just a great big gay joke with no punchline...

He's scum.

Considers anyone who doesn't advocate amnesty for illegal aliens to be bigots.

He's a non-issue in the election. He might be one of the "better" candidates on the Democrat roster, but he's not dynamic enough, nor can he raise enough money, to shake-up the Hillary/Obama juggernauts.

And he has some serious explaining to do for his actions during the Clinton administrations. Particularly the events that took place while he was running the Department of Energy.

to a point I have to agree. This will be the third election that there hasnt been a candadite which has really been top notch, in my opinon.

I dont know about you, but im tired of my vote being tantamount to choosing which bullet i'll be shot with.

Other than in the early years of the 19th century, when can you think of a more competent line of Presidential candidates?

The problem isn't the lack of candidates, it's the fact that the final two will be decided by Iowans and New Hampshirites long before we've got a clear picture of everyone. That's how the Dems ended up with that f*cking moron Kerry last time.

Furthermore, I wouldn't be averse to all "image consultants" dying together in a fiery plane crash. With only a few exceptions, every last one of these jokers comes off as some sort of pre-programmed robot. Even McCain has abandoned his "straight talk" and become another parrot, saying only what looks good to focus groups.

The whole presidential election process is broken and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. Otherwise we're just gonna keep ending up making choices between the two guys who came up with the most cash and managed suck up best to their targeted interest groups.
