Ok I just ordered a set of new chome 10 spokes and dont want to risk warping them or my set of new rotors. I checked my OEM shop manual it says 85 to 115 foot pounds. Kinda big spread so I call a Lincoln Dealer and they get a mechaninc who says 130-120 ft lbs for alloy and 120-110 for Chrome.
Seems kinda high so I call a couple of tire shops I get from 80 to 120 - no one seems to have a definative answer. Some shops use Torque sticks and have no idea what the foot lb actually is -scary:eek:

Any one have good luck with a certain Torque?

I have a freshly calibrated wrench ready to go! :wrench

I always do ALL rims at 100. Re torque at 500 miles, trust me on the RE TORQUE too. You don't want this to happen.

i agree with geno. 100 ft pounds is what i always do on aluminum wheels.

I go 100 FT LBS, and retorque after 50 Miles. any settling will occur LONG before 500 Miles. But everyone has thier own methods.

For 1/2" lugs, 100 ft/lbs is the torque. I use a torque wrench on my cars, and recheck them every 50-100 miles, until I get no movement, for two times. Then I know they are tight.
