figures first warm day in 2006 and the roof will not open it drops 1/8" and then stops. If I try to open in the Vent mode the Pass side will rise 1/4" but driver's side does nothing - I got a ratchet type noise from the driver side before the failure. It sounds like the motor is ok...any thought? I beleve GenIIs are different from Gen Is is this true?

Thanks!

I had the same problem last year. Try popping the sunroof motor access panel, and see if the motor is screwed in tight. On mine, the bolts came loose, and the motor actually fell of of the thing that it's supposed to rotate. Screwed it back in, and that fixed all problems.

I've had that problem for almost a year. I opened the hatch to the motor, everything was fine. I manually turned the motor and was able to slide the glass back but something on the rails was catching. I haven't had the time to pull it apart yet. I get the feeling I may tree sap or something lodged in the rails.

Thanks - could be debris. I always have the roof either open or in vent mode. So anything could have gotten in there.

Ok one screw had fallen out - added loctite and tightened up. Still wont move more than a little bit. I suspect this is an adjustment. The CD says:

The lifter mechanism should be all the way forward and latched over the spring.

Insert a 2.5 mm dowel pin on each side of the lifter mechanism timing hole. The dowel pin should reach through the outboard metal link and partially into the lifter mechanism.

l Move the outboard metal link to align, if necessary.

Where is this timing hole and outboard metal link?
