So,
On Saturday night, I had started the car to go to work. It started normaly settled into 800-750 rpms and had gotten rough. Odd since I had returned from California and ran a few errands the day before, without any problems.
So on the way to work, It had gotten bad enough for a CEL;
P0305 Cylinder misfire #5
P0174 Sys to lean bank two
P1000 Monitor checks Not complete, More driving required
Ok, Cleared them and changed the upstream 02 sensor on bank two as I had issues with this CEL before and moved coil #5 to #7 for tracking.
Next day going to work, had the same roughness for a few days. New CEL;
P0171 Sys too lean bank one
P0174 Sys too lean bank two
P1000 Monitor checks Not complete, More driving required
Next day, road test to get tools, CEL;
P0302 Fault cylinder #2 misfire
P0307 Fault cylinder #7 misfire (same coil twice now)
P1000 Monitor checks Not complete, More driving required
New tools and recorded these values;
~Fuel pressure at idle (no load): 30#
~Fuel pressure at idle, pulled vacuum lines: 35#
~Shut engine down, Fuel pressure rose to 35# and continued slowly to 39#
*Swapped out fuel pressure regulator w/ a used cobra unit, had same results.
~W/ engine running, vacuum @ 30#
~W/ engine running, no vacuum on regulator @ 35#, still idled rough with vacuum lines plugged.
~Engine running vacuum gauge on pressure reg. vac line @ 19 to 18", still running rough-34# Fuel pressure.
*Revved engine to approx. 2k rpm; 25# fuel pressure.
*Enigines maintains a relatively steady vacuum reading of @19", it does drop a tiny bit at stumbles.
Fuel Filter was changed out @5k miles ago. I have ran a few cans of fuel system cleaner through it though.
Sounds like I need a new fuel pump, huh? A Walbro 255lph,
p/n GSS340/400-812 maybe?
