Ayurveda is a comprehensive system of health care and maintenance. This approach is not limited to any particular diet, herbal formulation, or treatment. Treatment in Ayurveda may involve a change of diet, change of lifestyle and habits, herbal regime, internal cleansing, and elimination of accumulated humoral waste.

Among the Ayurvedic Treatments, the most popular treatment is the Abhayanga. Abhayanga or the Ayurvedic oil massage - is an integral part of the daily routine recommended by this healing system for overall health and well being. The oil massage forms the crux of most of the ayurvedic treatments. Abhayanga or Ayurvedic Treatment nourishes, pacifies Vata and Kapha, relieves fatigue, provides stamina, pleasure and perfect sleep, enhances complexion and the luster of skin, promotes longevity and nourishes all parts of the body.

The Ayurvedic massage is traditionally performed in the morning, before the bath or shower. The effects of massage vary with the time of day. During the day it relaxes and refreshes, giving increased energy. In the evening it is more tranquillising. The oil for the massage varies as per the needs of the patients. Herbalized massage oils contain a blend of carefully chosen herbs known for their ability to strengthen the physiology and balance the mind. So a daily massage with herbalized massage oil has twice the beneficial power - the benefits from the massage and the wisdom of the herbs. Aroma massage oils also deliver double the benefit - the healing aromas in the massage oil blend, if properly chosen, are particularly effective in balancing the mind and emotions while the act of the massage works on both body and mind.
