I have always believed in Rust Check. I have done my cars regularly and seen a deal for Rust Check last year. I went in and what they were spraying wasn't Rust Check, so yellowish crap on my M8.

I did some research and came across a report from the army that had labs do independent testing and Corrosion Free was the best (supposedly). Any rust inhibitor is only as good as the person applying it, but this aside wanted your opinions.

I was planning on getting krown on my winter mark.
First I need a pass card so I can travel to Canada
Closest one to me is thunder bay
But I've never heard of corrosion free

I've been getting ours done since 1989 and found that Rust Check is better than Krown. Rust Check started in 1972 and Krown in 1986.
Our neighbour had a 1986 Carpi and after 10 years of getting it done each year, no rust, not even on the gas tank straps.
I recently heard of Corrosion Free and they guarantee brake, fuel lines as well as gas tanks, if treated from at least 3 years old and at least re-sprayed every 1.5 years. It cost a bit more, but you pay twice every three years, so they say it is cheaper. They also do not wait till a hole is present from the inside from rust as out as the others. The others do not cover brake or fuel lines or see do-it-yourself kits. With 5 cars in the family, the kit will save a considerable amount each year or year and a half.

My M8 was done from the dealer and didn't have any holes when I bought her 3 years ago, just a bit of surface rust and thanks to the ridiculous amounts of salt Toronto puts down, she now has holes in the fenders and quarter panels. This after washing her each time it snowed too.

I think I will try Corrosion Free on the M8, to find out what is best. The evaporation tray will be a good test of the product. Mine is rusted and I found a decent non-rusted from the South that I will spay and install.

Just going to add, the Mark was prepped well at the factory. Besides nearly full galvanization of the body - only the roof was not done - the uniframe was sprayed internally with wax coating. If anyone has cut into a Mark, the wax is hard to miss.

With that said, the Mark is now old. And we know how well the evap tray holds ups, etc. But what was done at the factory certainly gives an extra layer of help.

I don't blame the car, I blame those that put down the salt. Here its all the time, most when not required, but with a such a light almost non-existent winter as this year, they are dumping it until the roads are bright white and leave a salt dust trail like it was a dirt road and them some.
Even in tough winters they dumped it far too much, sadly because most here in Canada can't understand the left lane is for passing never mind driving in rain, much less the snow.
I say put down sand and teach them how to drive in the snow, s*it its here 4 to 5 months of the year. Skid control should be part of your driver licence exam. Seriously.
