I have a 2000 V6 with manual transmition. Ever since I got it I could not get the memory to work. When I press either one of the memory buttoms (1 or 2) nothing happens. I read that since I have a manual tranny, in order to set a new memory I have to have my car in neutral with a hand brake on - but still cannot get it to work. I also do not have a computer which would allow me to turn on/off the memory. (I know that the non-manual LS which have the on-board computer have that setting). Let me know if someone have a manual LS and have had a problem with that or if someone know about how to turn the memory ON. I also checked all of the fuses and all seems to work, although when I was checking the fuse box on the passenger side (under the dash) the mirrors and the steering-wheel all of the sudden moved and then when I inserted my key into the ignition they all went back... Thanks for any info!!!

Has the feature worked at since you bought the car? when you enter and exit the car does the seat roll back and the steering whell backand up? I would check the connectors under the seat.

If it is the module, and I have not heard of any going bad, it is about 350 bux if it is the memeory switch you are looking at about 40 bux.

I am in Tampa so if you want to catch up some time I'd be happy to run the seat diag with my scantool. I am actually looking to sell the tool so if you are going to keep this car for a while I couldnt suggest a better pice of equipment to have except maybe the shop manuals or alldata.com

pm email aim just drop me a line and we can chat a little. Consideirng tyou have the Manual V6 you are setting pretty good in regards to a lot of issues like the tranny but there are some things that could give you acid reflux disease over time.

Memory seat

No, when I exit the car the seat doesnt go back, nor the stearing wheel. I also thought that the mirrors are suppose to go down when in reverse, but nothing happens. THe power seat and the wheel works fine though...

I'm not sure about the V6's since there is no message center but I know with my message center(V8) I can turn off the easy exit/entry system. I don't know what the V6's have with that option.
