Just bought a Silver Mist 98' Mark with 59,100 miles on it. Few quirks here n there to get used to and or fixed but that's to be expected.
This car is to scratch an itch I guess. I owned a 94' I bought used in 95', Black on Black and thought (and always will) that was the best car ever. Ever since getting rid of it i've always regretted it so recently I went on a search for about a month. Couldn't find the Black on Black I wanted, and still do if anyone knows of one please let me know, but came across this one, low miles and extremely clean and so far it's doing just fine in bringing back all the good memories. Even had a older Mustang GT pull along side today........not enough room but man, i don't need to explain but these cars ROCK!

This one's a Base and needs all the basic upgrades still. Just got the tinting done, one step at a time lol.

My 91' Mustang GT i've owned since 91', new with 8 miles on it will be jealous. Any "Mustang" money there was for this season now goes to the Mark!

Anyway, good to meet you all and glad to have found site for Marks.

Welcome to LVC. My bros got a 91 mustang GT, auto, yours stick or auto?
 
The Mustang is a stick. Close to 300hp, not a screamer like many out there but still a lot of fun.
Nice Mark! I'm still looking for a black on black.
 
Welcome to LVC. I also have a 91GT. Ordered it in May 91 and took delivery on July 17, 1991. With 5 miles on it.
 
Ok, we bought it with 8 miles on it but that was only after we put 5 on'r during the test drive, lol!!! So I sorta got'r with 3 miles to your 5??? Jk, competitive a bit but just kidding. ;)

Are there any Mark VIII Clubs in Northern Illinois that you know of? (This is to the other guy that lives in IL.) I'm in a Mustang club, they're fun. Do Carshows for charity or just for fun, cruises, Poker runs, etc....
Last year I had several members over for a bbq before heading off to the drive in to see FF5. On short notice there were only 10 cars that showed but this year we should at least double it. Pretty fun rolling in wolf pack style ya know? Engines roarin', man I can't wait to this weather breaks, lol!!!

Anyway, if there are any Mark VIII Clubs plz let me know.

Ahh sticks more fun in mustangs than auto but where i live there's too much traffic and shifting gears every 30 seconds would be a pain in the ass. his is stock with just a bbk cold air intake, so maybe around 230hp, and he has no cats- was removed by previous owner like 15 years ago, sounds nice but smells like a go kart. thanks for the compliment on my mark:D

95mark8newyork: I only have Flowmasters on the Stang. Sounds nice. The wife would rather go st8 pipes, just for the noise. Personally, there's a point loud gets to be obnoxious but at 47 years old I don't think she's ever going to get it lol.

Hey man whats up? Welcome back to the mark viiis! Where in Chicago are you located? I'm from Arlington Heights..I just met a couple other members on here who live out in Lockport Il who I bought a set of LSC bumpers from. We were shooting the sh*t the other night saying how we should get some guys together with their cars and meet up somewhere when the weather gets a little nicer, I too have wondered if there are any mark viii meets around here..I know there are a few members from the Chicago suburbs so hopefully we can get a gathering going. And BTW my dad's good friend also has a really nice black on black 94 that he's had for 12 years or so with 50 some thousand miles on it, he's from Franklin Park. But anyways, welcome to the forum!

Sure, putting together some type of cruise or something would be great with me. Maybe meet up at a carshow one night might work too?

Haha that's exactly where that picture was taken, top of one of the parking garages. But yeah that sounds good, there's a show in palatine at rand and dundee pretty much and one in mt. Prospect, both usually start sometime in may, I've seen a few marks that go to both shows actually, I talked to one guy with a red 2nd gen lsc..I forget which site he belongs to though. What town are you from though?
 
Carol Stream but my wife and I go all over to different shows, but that was with the Mustang. Now I wanna bring the Mark too. There's at least 10 different ones we go to from time to time and every year try new ones further away from home.
Last year, but our Stang broke down the day before we got to leave which is better then the day after we leave I guess, we were driving down with 3 others from a Mustang club i'm in to Tupelo MS. They made front page in the local paper!

Are you talking about the larger show in Rolling Meadows that split up but is still there? If that makes sense? Friday nights?

Barrington on Thursday, Lombard on Saturday, Roselle also on Friday, Gurnee McDonalds also on Friday lol. West Chicago Augestino's Tuesday nights, etc.....

Yep the Palatine show is basically the old Rolling Meadows cruise night from Kirchoff Rd. Last summer I checked out the Barrington show(s) one in downtown and one on Higgins..Higgins seems like it was better. There are a whole bunch around here.
 
My cars filthy. It'll get me to the show but that's about it right now. Not sure how far you travel but the Mustang club i'm in has put together a list broken down by day of all the events somewhat around our area. anywhere from 15 to 45 shows per day I think? I'm not cheap but I avoid the pay events unless there's big shows/events with'm vs. just huge trophies. I don't wanna buy trophies ya know?

LOL I hear ya, I don't enter any shows either, cruise nights are one thing, but i usually park on the outskirts unless theres a few other marks that are there..which is a rarity. If you go to any places within a 20 mile radius with the mustang club I'd be up for the drive to meet another mark owner..there aren't many "enthusiasts" around here just people who drive them haha. The two guys I met from Lockport said they would be up for meeting up on a Sunday sometime soon for some wings n beer or something of the sort. We'll have to figure something out.
