seeking rear shocks for a "1993" mark VIII Or advice on alternative replacement

I've used Monroe Thunderbird shocks on 1993/1994 model in the past. You won't reuse the ARC sensors, but that's not a huge deal. As I recall, I once tried KYB shocks and the upper portion that slides through the mount was larger in diameter than the Monroe units and would not pass through.

Check ^^those out. I've got a bunch of them in stock right now. They'll allow you to use any aftermarket 89-97 T-bird or 99-04 Cobra shock on your Mark VIII.

If your 93 still has the actuators on top of them, they can be disconnected and removed with no ill effects. It was a feature that was deleted part-way through 94 anyway.
