Hey guys, I went and test drove a different car today. Here are the specs.

2000 Chevy Camaro SS Convertible
Black with grey cloth interior
LS1 / 6speed
3.42 Posi rearend
36,000 miles
Every option that I can think of. The car has been VERY well maintained, and I have known the owners of it since I was a little boy. Not a blemish on the paint, or in the interior. hell, the guy was such a stickler, he put brand new Z rated 275-40-17's on it, when he got a nail in one of the old ones.

Now my dillema.

I don't like going over to the camaro board as much as I do here. The amount of younger people show when you try to have a coversation with em. I really like my 95, and has a TON of stuff done to it, that I would hate to get rid of. I like the fact that I can load up the car, and go for hundreds of miles and not even fidget for the entire trip.

The SS is smooth in it's own right, but you can tell the suspension is a bit rougher. Nothing too bad, but noticable. 27-28 MPG out on the highway which is damn good for 350 HP.

Anyway, thats enough rambling.....help me choose, cause the 95 will have to go if I decide to do this.

You already have 2 Mark VIII's, so an LS-1 Camaro would be a good fit with the 5spd Mark you have. I say sell.

I'd sell one of the Marks and put a blower on the other. Having a real cool Mark, especially one that is blown is ten times cooler and way more fun than any F-body anyday. And you will be eating those Camaros and Birds for breakfast, lunch and dinner, even some Vettes for dessert, and still enjoy air ride comfort and 26-28 mpg on the highway with stock gears.

How much is he wanting for the Camaro? How much do you think you could get out of your Mark's? What's insurance cost on each? That may settle the matter for you one way or the other.

I was looking for a Camaro as well when I decided to get my Mark VIII. So if it were me, I wouldn't consider getting another vehicle until my Mark was dead. But that's just me.

Big thing today, gas costs. Will the Camaro run on 87 octane? Will your daily driving cost more for gas with the Camaro or less? That, Insurance and mean time between major component failure and cost of repair are the big things to consider when looking to pick up a replacement vehicle. Something I'm currenly experiencing right now as I look to possibly succeed my Regal with a Caddy.

Just some thoughts

87octane.......HAH, I have to run 93 in the lincoln already, I can run 87 in it, but it runs like :q:q:q:q. The LS1 is alot more forgiving, when it comes to fuel.

Cost of repair is a NON Issue. I do ALL repairs myself, and have had a 4th Gen torn apart many times. Anyway, I think Iv'e decided on keeping both Marks, and getting the Camaro. My old man, decided he wanted to get rid of his beater and drive the 95 from now on.

So this effectively means I now have enough garage space to get the Camaro whilst still "having" the 95. thanks for your guys' input.

The amount of fuel cost is only about $2.00 per tank more a fill. It adds up but it depends on who you drive.

If you have 2 Marks (Member of the Sweet 16 club LOL) Hey I'd sell one if you really want the Camaro.

I'd save the Camaro for showing off then mod the Mark VIII and really show off..

Both are great cars....One of each would look sweet in the Driveway..

The front of my house looks great with 2 Mark VIIIs, a T-Brid SC, 00 Mustang, and when my oldest daughter comes home her RS Camaro.

I heard somebody is trying to pass a "No Parking" ordinance in Boscobel just to deal with the 'used car lot' you have going-on on Main Street.

Hey we have some narrow streets in Old Boscobel and Mine is one of them.

I have a vacant house next door and my neigbor and I fight for the front of this house's parking area. There hasn't been any guns involved yet LOL
