Serpentine Belt broke and Car is Overheating w/new belt put on

So I was driving and the serpentine belt broke I replaced the belt and now car is overheating and coolant is squirting out, it's pretty hard for me to tell where from, please let me know how I could resolve this situation. Thank You!

Plastic cooling system parts. There's a sticky... VERY common on cars with plastic cooling parts (most these days...)
 
Look along the belt path, my guess is when the belt split it hit one of the hard plastic pieces and split it.

My own belt dropped on me last week, but it didn't break, it started shredding. Replaced it before it failed completely.
 
Make sure you clean the antifreeze off all pulleys and the belt or it'll slip on the alternator pulley for a while . don-ohio
 
Quite interesting because the belt is up front and it looks like the coolant is leaking near the dash, this is very confusing.
 
I would guess that it is spraying back there from the thermostat housing, but the degas bottle is back there. Anyway, it doesn't matter. Whatever isn't leaking will start leaking after the leaking part(s) is/are replaced. Just go ahead and replace the plastic cooling system parts and be done with it.
 
This may sound dumb, but are you positive the belt routing is correct? You could be turning the water pump backwards (not even sure its possible to do but its worth asking IMO)

My LS was eating belts, shredding them and throwing them, Multiple times and it never damaged anything (replaced tensioner, and idler and problem went away)

I'm pretty sure some one would notice it was on wrong if the flat side was riding a ribbed pulley, I would also think that if the routing wasn't right, the belt simply wouldn't fit

I doubt that you could accomplish this. However, if you did, it would just reduce that coolant pump flow rate. It wouldn't make it flow backwards or anything like that. The only thing that causes coolant to spray out like that is one or more leaks.
 
It's been said that breakfast doesn't cause lunch. Perhaps the leak you're experiencing has nothing to do with the belt failure.

In the back, on the driver's side, you will note the degas bottle, a common failure point. And in addition, there are hoses that run across from the degas bottle to the passenger-side and tie into the heater complex. Any of this stuff is a likely source for your leak. Look closely at the various cooling system components and look for moisture. If the first sign of wet is in the back it probably has nothing to do with the belt.

Thats why i said im not even sure its possible with this car, but i have seen it done before.

These Lincolns can at times seem to defy logic on how things go wrong.
The likely answer for leaks is that they happened when the belt broke, due to heat stress since they are prone to damage anyways.

The problem is alot of people overlook simple problems, and jump to complex answers to how things happen, when it was the simple answer all along.

Sorry, no.
The system pressure is set by a valve in the degas cap. The system normally reaches the 15 PSI needed to trigger this valve. It won't let it go over that, unless it is grossly overfilled, even then it will expel the excess coolant and return the to correct pressure in a few seconds. (No, the excess will not spray where he showed.) Why fight this? He has cracks in parts of his cooling system. It's not like this is uncommon at all.
