First off... 2004 Ultimate V8 LS. I am getting this alarm on my message center. The brake does go off or releases but the yellow "Brake!" light at the on off switch stays lit and I a few rapid beeps. Anyone have any experience with this? It is still under warranty thank goodness.

Had that happen to my 04 three times. Each time it was after the battery had gone only slightly low. It would still crank, but would not start. Charging the Batt, would cure the start problem, but would also set off the Service Parking Brake message. The dealer would have to reset the flag each time because the old disconnect the Batt trick would not reset the message.

Thanks but dont think my battery. I had just driven home from work. Then a quick 10 mile round trip drive. Wife got in to pick up the kids and then the message after she started it.

My car was doing this last week but the dealer took care of it under warranty. I'll look at my receit and let you know which part it was but you may need something totally different with yours.

Well it seems to have fixed itself.

I had the happen a few times (2004 LS V8 sport). It always cures itself after a driving cycle or two. What usually seems to trigger it in my case is this. I would forget that I wanted to open the moon roof slightly or something like that after parking. So, I would turn the key back on briefly to do that, then off again. Many times after this, the yellow light would be on when the car was restarted later.

take it to the dealer anyway, there is a tsb on the issue. It will most likely need a new park brake module.

yea i had that but that was when my battery died -- after 2 cycles then it told me to put the " FOOT ON BRAKE" and then " RELEASE BRAKE" and then i cleared

I had that happen and had to take it to the dealer when my Batt went low. I tried disconnecting the batt to clear but it did not work. Would you please explain exactly how many drive cycles went by and how you cleared it?
