Service shop pricing question

ok, i took my 2000 v6 ls to get checked out at a shop here in va, it was making loud noises from engine and muffler, they found that my exhaust system and muffler needs to be replaced. Theyre asking 1400 for the job, is this a fair price?
The lastjob they did which was to correct an overheating issue came to 2100$.. just kinda wary that each job is coming close to 2k.

Depends on what all needs to be replaced, but you can get an aftermarket one from ken i think for 800 and install yourself.

I feel your pain though i took the ls in to have 3 diffrent things just checked out (Nothing Fixed). It cost me like 375

That doesn't sound too bad if it includes cats. Sounds damn cheap as a matter of fact.

if you want to take a ride up to MA, i have the oem system from a v8 with under 500 miles on it i will sell cheap. then you can put it on yourself. not sure if it will bolt up to the v6 though.
