How do you do it and how can you find out if its been done to your car...

Just a tad illegal that carries a hefty fine and penalty for the owner and/or the person doing the roll back. Even changing the instrument panel has electronic safeguards to alert the change, like dinging sound over a certain speed.

You can trace the title changes to see if there is any red flag change in mileage.

Hope everyone that sees this will keep this in mind when you announce you Lincoln is for sale.

haha thats good now i wont think of doing that lol.. no i always wondered how youd be able to find out.. and if your doing a sertan speed you will hear a ding soud wow does that work with most cars?

That's how it works with the LS. I don't believe most cars will give you any warning or notification at all. Typically you will only find out through a carfax (or similar) report.

Just do all your driving in reverse. Says it right in the manual.

are you from DeMotte Indiana ? If so, what are you worried about.. those billies wouldn't know what the dinging was, they probably think its coming from their CB. Enjoy your emission free city. :D:D:D

Also.. if you ever seen Ferris Bueller, you would know how to reverse the mileage.

I know on my truck it stores it twice, once in the gauge pod and once in the computer. You can change the gauges out to a lower mileage, but it will show the correct mileage if they look for it in the computer. Unless they were in with someone at fords and they change the computer mileage to match the new gauges.

Just use some "white-out" on the odometer display and then write in whatever number you want.

Just make sure you use a green pen. Works everytime.

Do we have VSS's? In the Honda community some scam artists would unplug it and the odo would not roll over, of course the speedo wouldn't work either.

Highly illegal and I do not condone it.

yes. 92-96 ford trucks you just have to pull a fuse.

But if you mess with the millage your car/truck will implode!

I thought so Nikolla, I thought I had seen your car around. I pass through DeMotte once in a while, mainly just to cut across 10, but I thought I saw you on 65. I should have known from your decals that you were headed to DeMotte... right next to Knights Karpet Kleaning.
