After replacing all front end components, tires and rims (balanced them to ) I still get a shaking in the steering wheel, not a vibration, its not the drive shaft also. That was balanced when the tranny was out and rebuilt.

I know it has to be some thing in the front end.

Rims, tires, upper control arms, inner, outer tie rods, sway bar end links, pads and rotors.

See why I think this is hard now

Had my friend (who is a creditable mechanic) look at it and he says the front end is rock solid

I think you need to inspect your tires. I know you said they are new, but sometimes when a tire is balanced, unless is was on a good machine and done by someone who cares, they might not be balanced properly. I have on more than one occasion had to take my car back to be rebalanced even though the tire dealership swore up and down they were done correctly the first time. Balancing tires properly is an art and Mark VIII's are very succeptible to incorrect balancing. When and if you have them rebalanced, look at them closely spinning on the balancer to look for uneven tread and wobble.

Hope this helps a bit.

when i got my 95 mark, got new tires, balance, from end done, still had that shake in the front, took it to ford and they said, got to be the tires, so i let another tire place balance them , all four tires were off balance, call the guy back at the place i got the new tires and balance, he said his machine get checked every 3 mon. anyway, could be them tires need re-balanced :L

Also check the sway bar end links, they will make the wheel shake like crazy if they are bad.

have your rotor runout checked, they may be warped.the newer cars with alloy wheels need the wheels to be torqued to 85-95 ft lbs or they will warp.
checking the balance is also a good thing to do.warped rotors usually give a side to side shake or wobble.up and down shake is an indicator of swaybars or alignment.
john

:steering <________his rotors are warped ,but he is a happy little guy lol

thanxs guys i will have to get the tires rebalanecedand check on the rotors, i can asure you that he strut rod bushings are good.
