i wanted to know if i pulled my battery cable will it reset my computer to learn how to drive again. i think is shifts funny. if you are driving nicely you will have a slow drown out shift feels like it is loosing power. i feel this on most cars but dont like it. lol

i was told that the comp relearns your driving style and adjusts to it, shift point, etc?

will pulling the battery mess up anything?

thanks much...

correct - just undo the ground strap from the body - it's a 8mm bolt. leave it undone for 10mins.

the things lost on reset:
- shifting firmness
- stereo preferences (not the pre-set stations but turning on RDS, or turning up the bass, ...etc)
- fuel mileage calculation
- not sure about the trip O/D

all, and leave it disconnected for 30min.

And, keep in mind that the learning is continuous. In a couple of weeks, it'll be right back to where it is now. Conversely, if you change your driving style, it will adapt to it in a few days without any "reset."

An adaptive automatic transmission studies your driving behavior and then adjusts its workings to deliver “suitable” throttle response and “appropriate” shift points.

As Joe points out, it's continues, it does not stop adjusting, your driving habits are never going to be the same day to day ... it adapts to your driving style, when you clear it (KAM), it simply wants to begin/learn the process from the beginning.

Someone on here some time ago was very vivid in the fact that a 'special' particular drive cycle had to be completed, no need to worry about that, just drive it as you would/should and for the love of god do not feel the need to baby it during the relearn process.
