Ok this is a odd question but I always wondered.

When you purchase a car on ebay or something and it requires shipment to you how the hell do they do it?

they have select services at the bottom of the page and you will hire the company to deliver the car. They put it on a flat bed truck and vola... (i assume they put it on the flat bed):shifty:  :p

So it really is that simple huh? They just drive it across the country on a flat bed.

I always imagined a big semi pulling up to your house or something.

I wanna get a project car I found dirt cheap but I never find any in my area what so ever.

It can and may well be in an enclosed trailer (if thats how the buyer wants it) along with other cars being shipped at that time.

well they can put it on one of these, in one of those, or for a local delivery strapped to the back of this fella...

Wow thanks guys! Gino I'll look into those links asap.

That Jag one, thats what I was dreaming:D only cause it just looks special:lol:

Quick, that huge rig pulling up is just as I thought.

And the Cars one is freaking awesome!

My project? 70-76 Z only cause you can find 'em cheap in conditions worthy for customizing plus parts that I would commonly replace for customizing are usually the ones that end up bad like fenders and rockers.

A guy has one in Toronto http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1974-DATSUN-260Z-PROJECT-W0QQAdIdZ92947490. Right now its a rolling chassis but he has everything ( except seats ) for a complete car including two 1JZ Supra motors, one complete with big turbo and one for parts.

The others in California on ebay and is only 1500$ but not as good of a deal considering the parts that comes with the first car I mentioned.

I bought my caddy on ebay.It was shipped from FLA to Boston,It got here in 2days!!!!.It was on an open car carrier and arrived covered in dirt and grease.I would recomend shipping exotic cars in closed trailer !!

I looked into shipping a car once... and all I know is you better be getting a really good deal cause shipping is not cheap.

Well the thing is most of these cars aren't drivable.

when my father in law bought his mark VIII on ebay, he hired a trucking company to haul it from arkansas to mass, it came on a truck like the first one pictured, a regular car hauler like you see at a dealership. my old boss bought a 62 chevy belair bubble top and that was hauled from cali to mass from exotic car transport. inclosed 2 level trailer, awesome rig and trailer man it was like a rolling auto shop inside the trailer.

Oh yeah, you got that right. It's like a NASCAR pit area in those rigs. I've seen a few cars dropped off by my job.
