Shocks color code

I've been looking around online for shocks as i am currently in the process of replacing my suspension. I saw on rockauto they had color code white for $12 and they are original motorcraft. What do the for codes mean? Can anyone provide a list of what the different color codes mean?

It's the base number you have to focus on.

I recall green and purple for first Gen sport shocks.

White might be base LS, can't be sure.
Haven't seen any 'coloring' listings.
