Should we invite Lincoln to our site?

Lately, I've been reading a lot of threads bashing our Lincolns and Lincoln's new design approach. I have to admit myself that I am not happy with the new concept Lincolns. I know that if I contact Lincoln and voice my opinions, it will not matter. However, I thought if we invited them to our site to read these threads it might make more of an impact. Probably not much but better than one person contacting them. So what do you guys think? Should we invite them to read our opinions, or do you think it is a waste of time?

That's a good idea, although their project teams should be doing this already. It's important to know what your market wants, although this site seems more geared to a used Lincoln, not too many new LS's on here. I'm moving to Melbourne, FL and I see more new LS's on the road here than in Orlando (being driven by white hairs.) Unfortunately, it seems that Lincoln is marketing towards the older crowd who has the money (majority - there are exceptions) to purchase a new luxury car. Flashy, trendy, sporty, fast are not the kind of adjectives you could use to describe the cars my grandparents drive.
Sorry to be so long, but a good business practice is to know your customer and cater to them. Lincoln sells new cars and they are catering to their main customers.

I understand what you say Midas, but it seems alot of people here are also discontent with the Lincoln concepts that will probably be coming out soon

Sad Days for Ford

Midas,
Gotta agree with your comments generally. It looks like Lincoln (FORD) has given up on even trying to compete with BMW and Mercedes. Come on, have you been in any of their other Lincolns lately. I really don't know how they sell any of them, especially their little Mexican Lincoln. But, don't be fooled there are "white hairs" out there who are performance enthusiasts and want Hot Rod Lincolns too. Those of us who wanted performance Lincolns will be looking elsewhere -- just like you younger folks. Heck, even my wife's Yoda (Avalon) will hang in there with a 6.4 sec. 0-62 LS. Lincolnlov

Ohh...they're here. Bet on it. There isn't a decent forum out there that the factories don't look at. It's how they get their best feedback...and check out what's going on with their product...items that are being installed in place of factory, etc. It's a huge source for them.

your probably right and midas your right too i just didnt think about it. the interiors of these new cars are all for the older generation, just look at the gauges god damn things should go on a 1960's car. i guess lincoln is going for the older crowd and if you think of it lincoln is a name the older crowd trusts for its long time american feel. as long as ive been around ive always seen "white hairs" (as you call them LOL) driving lincolns. it generally an older generation styled car and always have been.

It's sad, but as I read reviews and articles on the web, Cadillac doesn't even seemed conscerned with Lincoln. They are trying to target Jaguar. I hate to think that Ford doesn't make an American car that could shake Cadillac up. Of course we all know we have the best cars, but the corporate world sees it differently.

I got out of my LS last august and was really close to buying another one despite the issues I had with my first. The mark enthusiast felt the same sting the LS enthusiast are feeling right now.

Although I did not abandon my LS deal over Lincolns direction my reason was very similar.... customer service rather lack of it and the inability to listen to the customer.

There must be something bad happening at the very top that is as infectious as the flu becasue I witnessed many times in the service centers and on the showroom floor.

The darling for ford has been its trucks/suvs and I think they have not really given much consideration to anything else. The sun is setting on them and I think they probably scrambled to push some new cars out in hope of capturing a bigger piece of the much neglected market.

Today Idrive an infiniti as a result of all my experiences; I think I should send some roses to the FoMoCo folks thanking them for their part in my buying decision :)

Full disclosure though.... I still love the LS and hope to see remain in production.

This must be a growing, prevailing trend. Sadly, I feel the same way.
I have been a die hard fan of Ford all my life, (I currrently own four, including two Lincolns), however I must agree that as a result of my experiences, Ford has made it very clear that they do not want my business. They refuse to be of any service to the consumer when known problems arise with their product. They can't seem to build a car that doesn't blow head gaskets, they incorporate aluminum planetary gears in transmissions that break, (and then supply replacement gears made of steel...think they knew?), spark plugs blow out of the #4 cylinders in their 5.4L engines by the thousands and they will not admit there is a problem, and I won't even mention the hundreds of little items that fail such as the windows of our LS, heated seats that don't last more than a couple of years etc. etc. etc. And when these things do fail, how does Ford treat their customers,...by throwing salt on the wound and charging exhorbitant prices and labour rates to fix it.
If Ford wants me to stand by them, then they have got to take responsibility for the product they are selling. If they cannot build a vehicle as reliable as their competition, then at least they should stop hiding their head in the sand and saying it's not our fault,.....there's no problem,..... that will be $2,500.00 for the repair sir.
Built Ford tough now has a new meaning for me.
"Too bad you have to continually spend money to fix all these annoying things that break on your Ford car sir, but that's just.....tough".

I love the ford tough statement. PRICELESS!

I had nearly 16k in warranty repairs and roughly another 4k or so in out of pocket repair costs after my extended warranty, 80k mile, expired.

And I still love the car what is up with that. I think they call it battered owner syndrome or something.

A pastor once told a congregation, "Your heart is where your money is." Meaning where ever you put your money, you put your heart. I know he was just doing it to get donations, but since I heard that 12 years ago I haven't experienced an opposing position.

Hey, they're only about half white!! :N:

Young whipper-snappers! :) We "white-hairs" represent the most radical, rebellious generation ever born ... including your Gens X, Y and Z. We invented most of the stuff you think is cool!

So there! Now, if I could just remember where I left my teeth ...

As a certified member (64) I agree. People seem to have forgotten which gen started drag racing on abandoned streets.:) We still enjoy performance cars, but now enjoy a little Luxury too. This is the first performance Lincoln I have ever owned, but it looks like I will have to go to Jag or back to BMW if Lincoln continues in their current direction.

Umm, I think that'd be the same generation that invented racing on dried lake beds and won World War II. They were racing before the Baby Boomers were born, let alone taking credit for everything except the problems they caused. ;)

In the ass of a friggin import HOTTIE! that's where they are!!!!! - SMOOCH!

We will buy them all up for parts.... once those are not suitable or gone all together we will create and modify parts....I love my Lincoln...no other ride has compared (welll, one, but wasn't a car...).

We all know it....feel it....and will keep them alive regardless of what FORD decides....

seems like the navigator is the only thing they have coming out to compete against cadillac.. all else is jus horrible lookin to me.. it is geared to a crowd that i am not a part of, the customer service started out GREAT for me.. covered everything with no questions asked.. but that has changed dramatically.. they sold the only lincoln dealer close to me so a 45 minute commute does not help the cause...

lincoln is goin somewhere.. and i dont seem to be liking their direction much

Lincoln needs to talk with those of us that drive Lincolns and ask us what we would like to see as the next evolution for Lincoln to take.

A LVC Babe with the name of BANGINLS really should have a pic in the Guys Guys Guys thread hun ;)
