nitrous setups. for those who have it on the ls. want pics of bottle location and switches in seating area. thanks in advance. do i NEED a chip?

no pics - as mine is off now. Ran it for about a year.
There are a bunch of threads on this do a search - for the setup piece:
- colder cooper plugs
- retard the timing- only can be done with thew SCT XCal
- watch the pressure drop across the rail at WOT - they say you can run it on a stock fuel pump - but consider an aux inline

this is my old setup (the trunk ) I have two bottles and they are in silver base now just need to get my lazy busy @$$ back on painting them00ls-sport said:

NO CHIPS they usally advance your timing and thats a BIG NO NO with nitrous you want to retard timing 1-3 degrees for every 100h.p you add (dont know if you can retard the timing on an LS without some computer help) (i know the knock sensors will pick it up and do it to a point just dont go crazy I'm running a 100 shot on my ls6 and its fine I pulled the plugs and no signs of trouble (2 steps colder on the plugs) so keep in mind you just dont want to exceed the limits of YOUR motor....

What times and hp have you put up with that setup?
This isn't a problem since there is no CHIPs for the LS
correct - only the SCT XCal can do this currently. How are you doing it?

sure do here ya go it was my baby for about 1 year or little more I wanted one so bad and when i got it i didnt know what to do so i just started working my ass off to buy stuff i was going to bag it but it was to small (i had a massive system the seats were all the way up for the two subs and a massive port soooo lllooouuuddd but i just couldnt take it anymore and when i was in vegas for sema i saw a couple of ls in town and said that what i want and when i came home I spent two days stripping the truck and sunday night drive home in my ls but n e waz here is the pics )Motts said:

The S-10 looks hot man!! Love that NOS!! Car looks really hot. On your LS did you install the NOS bottle yourself?? Wish I could get a :nos: but I don't think the wife would like that too much :Bang

Depending on how big a shot you use, I would most definitely have it tuned!! You can have any chip...well..in this case the SCT hand held tuner, programmed for NOS. They can build in the spark retard you need with the tune. This is best done by someone experienced with these cars and done on a chassis dyno. Alternatively, you could look at an MSD box that will pull timing per rpm and is activated with the same switch as your NOS. I'm not positive MSD offers anything for this ignition...but it's similar to the Cobra stuff and they offer products for that. But to just throw NOS on a car and assume it will be safe is taking a huge chance IMO with these compression ratios.

thanks again for the feedback on the DIME IT is now starting to be missed after i look at the picks and think ONLY IF i should have mentioned it all went down hill when we (florida got hit by the 3 hurricanes ) the first one I couldnt get my truck covered so it sat in the driveway and right during it all i moved it cuz the truck was going to fall on it it was painted 3 or so week before and the shingle damaged was sad then on the third one we had either labor day or memorial day cant remember some stole the grille (they ripped it off and stole one of the strobes and then that was it for me ) this was in my driveway but the windows on house was still bored up this was at 1145 in the morning so :slam then i went to sema and the ls was all over the vegas city and i said im getting one and now im here :L
