Siding the shop...

Well it's time to actually do some upgrades around the house and I figured what better place to start than the garage. It's 32x60 with about 16 ' ceilings. The outside is a bit rough and I want to reside it. The question is what color should I go with? The house is tan with green shutters. Should I do the garage in the same. Color scheme or change it up a bit? The roof will also eventually match the trim color. I am definitely going with metal ribbed siding and will wrap it in a tyvek type material. Eventually I plan to redo the interior as well but am taking baby steps. First interior upgrade will be a lift...

My father's shop is red and his house is yellow. He didnt want a HUGE yellow shop on his property. This is about as good of a pic as I have.

I'd stick with a light color to keep the temp down in the summer. So tan w/ white door's or all white with a pic or sumtin on the big door, just something to seperate it.

Lol the doors are staying white. I have an existing door that is green that I might use just out of a cost cutting tool. No rainbow :q:q:q:q on my garage...

I'd match it to the house. IMHO it sits close to the house and would look funny without it matching.

Because of a close proximity to the house I would match the house. That is if your not trying to run a business out of it that customers come to.

This shop is my play pen. Yes a 32x60 garage is my playpen. The only customers are friends that want help on their vehicles. I am an engineer by trade...

Just going by the pics, the barn in the background on the other side of the fence matches the house...

So if the barn that's 100 yards away matches...shouldn't the one that's 20 yards away match too? Just sayin

its going to end up with tan siding with green trim and the white doors. The roof will wait for another year or so.

update: going out for quotes on the siding and roof this week. hopefully in the next few weeks ill have the drive in beside the garage for extra parking (car trailer and such) and the beginning of may have the siding done.

Update: Here are a bunch of before pics of the garage, The siding is being delivered today and they are starting on the roof on Wednesday or Thursday. They hope to have it done by the end of next week. I will take pictures nightly for those who want to follow this.
