As you can see it's in pretty rough shape at the moment. This is my mother's car but I've been driving it for sometime, all the damage was caused by her.

Tomorrow I'm changing the oil and filter, and spark plugs. I changed out the air filter last night, the city can put out some dirty air!

Any other suggestions on what else to change? the car now has 93,600 miles, had a rough summer.

Rough summer indeed. Good luck on your repairs!

You mentioned lots of city driving when talking about the air filter, and looking at the average fuel mileage its obvious thats all that car ever sees. Its funny how much damage gets done to a car when it spends most of its time in a city environment.

Does not look like it will be to much work. It honestly looks pretty solid. Good luck on the repairs. Do the general maintenance, a good alignment and inspection of the suspension is a good start, also it's over 70k miles, trans flush may be a good idea. remember to add lucas after the flush. Coolant change flush is probably a good idea to. General maintenance ya know
I like the gold on beige.

lol thanks guys, yesterday I had a friend of mind changing out the spark plugs for me, he only finished 5. One simply wouldn't catch and he said he dosen't have something or another to get to the other two, so it goes to the shop where he works tomorrow.

Yea the damage is actually interesting, my mother backed into a taxi cab from something or another I forget the story. Then to add insult to injury she was driving on the expressway in Jersey and hydroplaned or something wound up hitting a wall after slowing down quite a bit.

Thank fully the car is a tank and I wouldn't trust her driving anything else.

lol. . .

"mom, you're only allowed to drive the lincoln. . . give me the keys to the mustang please"

Change the fuel filter.

I second the coolant flush, and transmission fluid change ONLY if the current fluid is not burnt or browned.
Use Mercon V transmission fluid and add NOTHING else to it.

Oh, when you change the plugs make sure you torque them to spec (15lbs/ft) - don't just crank them down tight. These aluminum heads are only half threaded and can easily be stripped if you go to tight.
You also need to be careful about cross threading, use a real plug socket.
And no anti-seize on the threads.

And I'm praying my friend who is doing the fixes and owns a 99 Grand Marquis knows all this, if not I'm just gonna cry a bit.
