Hello guys. I was wondering if any of you knew where I'd be able to find a comprehensive guide for installing the OEM Sirius unit in the 06 LS. I have the shop manual but that just shows you how to remove the head unit. I was hoping someone might be able to point me towards a step by step walk-through with photos. Thanks.

I don't know of anyone who has installed an OEM unit. Upgrading to an aftermarket radio is (usually) the go-to.

I do believe i've read somewhere that the OEM unit is mounted behind the glovebox, and i'm sure it has a plethora of wiring to go with it.

Any particular reason why you want to add it to the OEM radio vs going aftermarket and easily adding the SiriusXM module, as well as having more features like bluetooth, HD radio, backup camera, DVD/video playback, etc?

im sure part of the reason for adding OEM Sirus to the existing radio has to do with it being cheaper...

comprehensive? no, I haven't seen anybody do a write up yet, but as long as your radio is compatible with it is fairly straight forward...

1 run antenna outside of car to inside locating of the tuner, then plug it in.
2 run OEM harness from location of the tuner to the OEM radio then plug it in.
3 mount the tuner.
4 call SiriusXM and activate tuner.
5 listen to sat radio.

Thats not too bad then. I figured an OEM module would incorporate itself into the whole vehicle somehow as everything else in this car does, lol. I had it in my Edge, though I never used it, I remember the module having ten times the amount of wire harnesses it seemed like it should've needed. It never did work either, always said something about an error.
