Sliding Moon Roof cover problem 93 M8

Hey everyone

Newviiiowner here. Since I got my 1993 Gen 1 M8 the sliding moon roof cover inside the car has been out of it's tracks. I bumps and slides back and forth, left and right and rattles like a .... well you know... What I DONT know is how to get the panel back into it's tracks. I have had the local trim shop look at it and they pushed me away like it had herpes or something.

Any body got any ideas that dont involve torches, welders, or saws???

+1 to whomever can tell me how to put a cover pannel up there. As long as iv had mine its never been there. Im told its an aftermarket roof. Oh, also, anyone be able to guess why my roof doesnt work at all? I press the buttons and doesnt even hint at a try. Sry, not trying to hijack the thread.
