:feedback Hi I have been reading the threads and saw someone say the 4.10's would help on takeoffs. What is that??? I am new to the mark 8. I got a 97 lsc and the thing is fast. It made me sell my eldorado(a 92) and park the sls( a 97). The car gets up but its kinda sluggish in first and second. Also the car just started doing this kind of whining noise. I wanna say it sounds like a supercharger but im not sure what a charger sounds like. Also WHAT IS A jMOD? It sounds like I would want that on my car

its your rear end ratio 4.10:1 yes might be a little tall. im going with 3.73:1. the higher you go the less mpg you will get but it will help the slugishness of it.

j-mod yes it for your tranny is like a shift kit but only for the 4r70W trans thats in this car, it uses upgraded parts. it will shift better and last longer. there is no down side to it so do it and do a fluid flush with mercon V.

the whining could be the belt tensioner , hard to tell.

not to say you're wrong but I've heard guys around here with 410's with the same if not better mpg. I think a lot of it has to do with your driving style (I'd be putting my foot through the floor and chance I got). I've heard the higher gears helps your city driving because you hit last gear sooner and it helps get the heavier car moving (less effort from the engine). There was a big discussion on this a while back that got real detailed concerning power consumption and all kinds of mathamatical equations. I think you can use the 410's and still get decent mpg's with a good tune and a couple of upgrades.

no it wont be bad im just saying you might go from 28 on the highway to 24-25mpg 3.73:1 are really where its at for the mark VIII

3.73s aint were its at, you have a 4000 pound car you need the extra gear from the 4.10s. If your looking to have fun in your car and dont really care what your run in the 1/4 or if your supercharging then 3.73s is for you. but N/A you need 4.10s

oh and hell now im thinking i should of went with 4.30s

man driller i wish route 66 had a announcer like that, but anyways good job from another happy 4.10 owner.

4.10's RAWK!!!!!!!!!!!! the 95 is SO much faster off the line than the 94, and thats even with the shorter 1st gear in the 94's T-45

Great vid! What was the car running that day?

Most of that montage was in the heat of last summer - I believe it was in the 9.7-9.8 range @ 73-74 mph in the eighth mile. Oh, and before the shift kit and drag radials too. ;)

im getting some 255/50/16s tires to get rid of the wheel hop, some falken ziex for about 47 dollars a tire then Im sure my ET will take a dive
