Long story short picked up a new drain plug for my trans flush as the old one was rusted badly. On the way out a truck loader went full speed with a car destined for auction right into me.. I think the bumper is shot.. light obviously but cheap.. the fender though needs some reshaping hopefully not paint..... guesstimate on cost?? Im not calling insurance as my rates on all my cars will go up and ill lose my accident forgiveness strike on such stupid sh*t..

This should all be on dealership's insurance. No need to talk to your insurance.

Well thats tricky because the truck company handling the car was not for the dealer. Technically I was not in for service I was driving on my way out at a stop. Regardless any claim at all even no fault counts against me.

If you have the truck companies name, real easy small claims court recoup if you dont want to chase through insurance. Agree, its dumb that insurance works that way. We pay them for this work, but they want more if they have to work.

I had an issue with Disney being negligent in a parking lot facility, but thankfully they responded quickly and their insurance coughed up.

from the last time somebody hit my car...

new bumper and paint is around $600, paint and blend for the fender will probably be over $200. new taillight probably $100-200. then a few hundred in labor for putting it all back together.

these were dealer prices and was years ago so prices likely have gone up since then. there were other things under the bumper that you couldn't see that also drug up the price even more... all in all it was $1700 just to replace a rear bumper after somebody with a trailer hitch backed in to the car and nothing other than the bumper that could be seen had any damage.

you can likely save money by buying used parts or having the work done somewhere less than awesome.

so this accident forgiveness that you are worried about losing, how much is this value really? is it where they write you a small check every 6 months that you dont have an accident, or is it where you can have one accident in the past year and they wont raise your rates? cause it would have to be one hell of a deal for me to pay out of pocket for somebody else fukcing up my car...

Three reputabl shops qouted me $2200-$3500. Bumper alone is $600 no AF parts avail. Then theres the light, the moulding, and pieces behind the bumper.. reverse sensor isnt working and quarter plus painy..Around $2k I think is reasonable...
