Ok, i got this car around january 2005, the first day I drive it, it was all snow outside, i turned on traction control, next thing i know the car wont shift pass 35 mph, now when i shut off overdrive, it drives in low gears just fine, is this an easy fix, or do i need a whole new tranny?

second
My alarm recently started going off for no reason, i cant even start or shut off the car without it waking up the neighbors.. its getting really annoying, how can i disable the system

third, when i first got the car the suspension air compressor was totaly blew out. so i put a new compressor and relay in it, and it pumps up the car when i first start it and a minute later the computer will tell me to check air ride system. and the front leaks out and drops to the ground after i drive for so many minutes, and the back is extremly high, how can i lower it out or let the air out of the bags so it can reset itself? ANY help please!

35mph is where OD is supposed to shift, at least on a Gen. 2 so it sounds like everything's okay there.
As far as the alarm goes, lots of people havetalked about disabling the alarm but I'm not positive, it seems like there's a module you can unplug maybe?
I know nothing about the air bag system except that it rides nice but also can be a PITA!

i figured out the alarm problem, i found a yellow box underneath the glove box and unplugged it, worked great.

but for the transmission, IT wont go past 35 with over drive on, when i shut the overdrive off, it will go faster

The airbag symptoms are the classic leaking front airbags. It seems the compressor is running all the time (at least till it hits it's thermal cutoff point). That would indicate a major leak in one or both front airbags.

The simple fix is to replace them. Even though I don't agree with Eddie at American air suspension, he is the best guy to deal with when it comes to air bags. Bar none.

I've never dealt with arnott, but I've heard numerous stories about his rather poor handling of warranty returns.

Some will suggest a coilover conversion, but if you want coilovers, then why did you buy a Lincoln, right? ;)

Q: The check air ride suspension error keeps appearing. The back of the car is up a little more than it should be, and the air ride motor is not running.

A: Someone raised the car off the ground without shutting the switch in the trunk off. It now needs to be reset for height. Ed

I Found this on another page, does anyone know how to reset the height? I did jack it up without shutting off that switch..

I think you need to turn the compressor off and let the car come back down equally, then turn it back on. There could be more to it though.
