I think Ted Thompson and Packers coach Mike McCarthy are going to get run out of town :D
http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5iJ4dh7TkvXFMpdKZU9rITbou7jtwD91TR6IO0

According to Van Susteren, who spoke to the AP by telephone Monday afternoon, Favre said he was "never fully committed" to retiring and felt pressured by the Packers to make a decision, a notion Packers general manager Ted Thompson and coach Mike McCarthy tried to dispel in an interview with the AP on Saturday.

This is going to be fun to watch :D

Even though Brett is being a damn Diva right now, bring him back and let him start. Who the hell is Aaron Rodgers anyway? If he can stay away from throwing that jumpball that can be picked, they can get to the Super Bowl.
He was money for my fantasy team last year too...;)

Having worked on some promotions for the Packers the last 6 years or so, I've been a busy little beaver sending out emails to get Brett a double trade that'll land him where he wants to go.

Thompson is an idiot. It is all about Ted not wanting Brett back. He has never wanted Brett ever since he drafted Aaron. If the Packers win, Brett gets the credit. Only way Thompson gets the credit is with Rodgers at the helm.

That is what this is all about.

If the Packers HAD wanted Brett back, all they had to say was: 'Brett we want you back. We want to win with you'. But the Packers never said that. It was always: 'Well, if you want to come back, sure you can come back'.

Ted Thompson betting his whole career on a guy that has played in 2 games. What a joke.

Go Brett. I'll help you get to Minnesota, Tampa or Chicago. You deserve the opportunity to play wherever you want. You owe the Packers nothing!

i hope he doesn't come to Chicago, hes been the face of evil in our eyes forever and we just cant change that. and if we did get us to the super bowl with brett i can hear all the packer fans "you only won cuz you had brett" bla bla bla

It's just the typical cry baby Packer Fans again...

What maybe the end of Brett Favre and his legacy is his retirement not his career.. LOL...

It's all about Brett.... Hell the guy hasn't retired... he played last year... hasn't even sat one game yet... Sorry no respect for Brett here..

Ever since a Married Drunk Brett Favre followed my brother-in-law's sister into the womans bathroom trying to make advances on her (and she's not a trophy to go after) I lost respect for him. But I guess he's a reformed man now...

I think thats common with the big hot shot ball players.

I almost got into a fight with Ray King (a former Brewer pitcher for those that don't know) for touching my wife at Kellys Bleachers here near me. What a punk he denied it and called my wife a lier. Hes married too but was known there for chancing anything that moved.

I say see ya Farve!

Yep old Ted is not going to get out of this too easy.
All they had to do was tell Favre to come on back and compete for the QB spot.
Every player competes for a roster spot every year. EZ out and Ted and Mike were too stupid to figure it out, or to arrogant.

Farve makes it very clear in this interview what his points are. They wanted an answer and they got one.

AccuScore: How would teams fare with Favre?
By AccuScore
Jul 15, 5:39 pm EDT

AccuScore.com has run more than 10,000 simulations for Yahoo! Sports, calculating how each team’s performance changes in response to game conditions, opponent’s abilities, roster moves, weather and more. Each game is simulated one play at a time and the game is replayed a minimum of 10,000 times to generate forecasted winning percentages, player statistics and a variety of game-changing scenarios. Here’s AccuScore.com’s analysis of what type of impact Brett Favre would have if he returns to the NFL this season.

AccuScore’s NFL simulator was used to analyze how much Brett Favre would help a variety of teams rumored to be possible destinations. The simulations do not expect Favre to have as much impact on other teams as one might expect simply because he would be joining a team just months before the start of the season. It obviously takes far more than eight weeks to master a new offense.

CHICAGO AND MINNESOTA – NO WAY PACKERS ALLOW THIS

At this point it looks like the Green Bay Packers are welcoming Favre to return as a backup. Here’s why they would never allow him to sign with a division rival like the Chicago Bears or Minnesota Vikings. AccuScore has simulated every game of the 2008 season 10,000 times to calculate the probability of each team winning their division or making the playoffs as a wild card. AccuScore’s baseline forecast for the NFC North has the Vikings with the best chance of winning the division and making the playoffs. The Vikings’ strong running game and improved pass rush gives them a +7 percent edge on the defending NFC North champs, Green Bay. AccuScore does expect Green Bay to make the playoffs as a wild card (sixth in the NFC).

Even though Green Bay is forecasted for second in the division, the gap would widen to a 40-percentage point difference if Favre went to Minnesota.

Baseline Playoffs...... Win div.............. Favre to Minn Playoffs Win div
Minnesota Vikings.......59% 45%........................Vikings 78% 65%
Green Bay Packers......52% 38%........................Packers 44% 24%
Chicago Bears............19% 11%........................Bears 17% 7%
Detroit Lions..............11% 6%..........................Lions 9% 4%

The story just gets better every day.

Packers Allege Tampering By Vikings

http://wcco.com/vikings/packers.charges.vikings.2.773108.html

It seems Farve has been talking with his old pal Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell.
The person said the league already has reviewed evidence provided by the Packers, and team officials believe a league examination of telephone records would indicate more than "normal contact" between Favre and Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, a former Green Bay assistant. According to the person, Packers officials also believe the contact began before Favre and his agent, Bus Cook, formally asked the Packers to release him.

Your right Monster there is no way in hell they will let Farve turn purple.
With this story you have to wonder what Farve was thinking, was he sniffing around to see if he is wanted.....because he was thinking the packers didnt want him ?

Bevell must also be a nitwit......this is going to be fun to see what happens next.

Your right Monster

F the Packers.

This is all Ted Thompson's fault. Plain and simple.

If people can work behind the scenes (me and others sending emails to everyone) to get Brett a double-trade as I mentioned before, more power to Brett.

What really pisses me off is if Brett is supposed to suck so bad, why n ot release him. I'm sure the Packers could beat anybody that Brett plays for because Rogers is a god and Brett sucks so bad, right?

What is so hilarious is this.

If you were a team like the Packers with a Super Bowl team and a guy that has played 2 games in the NFL and 2 rookies who haven't played a game, wouldn't you be the team looking to pick up a veteran to lead you to the Super Bowl?

Think about that. Favre is the guy a team like the Packers would kill for and yet Ted Thompson wants to gamble his whole career on HIS draft choice. Both Ted and Brett are egomaniacs but Thompson is way over the top when compared to Brett.

I think thats common with the big hot shot ball players.

I almost got into a fight with Ray King (a former Brewer pitcher for those that don't know)

Ray King was supposed to be the "lefty specialist" against Big Papi in 04.

We all know how that ended up
